“I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It” – Voltaire

There has been, over the last few years, a real push in censorship.
When I was growing up, if you didn’t like something, you turned it off. Or you didn’t read it.
These days, though, there is a huge push to limit access to pretty much anything, based on whatever special interest group is offended.
The reason I bring this up is over a video I made last week, talking about Neil Young vs Joe Rogan. The whole thing was essentially, “I don’t like what he is saying, take him down, or remove me from your service”. Given the numbers, what happened next made sense for Spotify.
But, to me, I have no real horse in this race – I’m not pro Joe Rogan – to be fair, I haven’t listened to him.
BUT, I am pro free speech. Joe has every right to talk about what he wants on his podcast (barring anything illegal, of course). And Neil has every right to want his stuff off a service he disagrees with. But to make it a “either he goes or I go” situation?
Bye Neil.
